Field trip visit to Saint-Gobain Isover, Denmark

After a short summer break, the DTU CO2NTSRUCT research group at Materials and Durability resumed our research with a field trip to Saint-Gobain Isover, Denmark.

An exciting field trip to Saint-Gobian Isover Danmark took place on August 10, 2023. After a short summer break, the DTU CO2NTSRUCT research group at Materials and Durability resumed our research. Being invited by Peter Hedegaard, Business Relations Director from Saint-Gobain Isover Danmark, Ana Teresa Lima, Gunvor Marie Kirkelund, Wolfgang Kunther, Rune Andersen, Ruichang Mao, Tao Liu, Georgia Psyrri , and Zheng Lu, visited Saint-Gobain Isover Danmark in Vamdrup.
A vibrant exchange of insights punctuated the day. The hosts, Peter Hedegaard, Christian Reese, and Morten Roar Berg, shed light on Saint-Gobain’s work toward circular construction, and the CO2NSTRUCT group leader, Ana Teresa Lima, had the chance to share our research experiences and perspectives.

A highlight of the visit was an immersive tour through Saint-Gobain Isover Danmark glass wool production processes. Witnessing these intricate operations firsthand enriched our understanding of glass wool production. The shared concerns over construction material circularity and sustainability for climate mitigation were of mutual appreciation. We both looked forward to interacting and joining efforts for knowledge sharing to enhance our understanding of the way out for the construction sector in the face of decarbonization challenges
